Seoul, South Korea (CNN)Seven new cases of Middle East Respiratory[1] Syndrome[2], or MERS virus, have been confirmed[3] in South Korea, the country's Ministry of Health said Sunday. Fourteen people died from the virus, 10 have recovered after being infected and 121 are under treatment, the ministry said.

Health officials this weekend said the outbreak was slowing, but additional cases were expected.
Exactly a month ago, a South Korean man walked into a hospital complaining of a cough and fever.
The 68-year-old patient, who had just returned from four Middle Eastern countries, went from facility to facility before getting properly diagnosed[4]. He would become "patient zero" of the country's outbreak.
The outbreak has sparked[5] international concern, shuttered[6] more than 3,000 schools and stalled the country's economy.
Health officials have said this week is crucial in the battle to contain MERS, as many of those in quarantine[7] are near the end of their mandatory[8] isolation period.
Mers was really a terrible flu that had ever swept over whole South Korea a few months ago, and it had large, serious results. Not only schools had to shutter but also the tourism economy in Korea declined. I think their government can deal with Mers better to decrease bad effects.
回覆刪除There is no vaccine or effective treatment for MERS. I hope there won't be any other people dying of MERS and those who has infected with MERS can get well soon. The outbreak of MERS also has affected South Korea a lot. A number of visitors cancelled their plans to go South Korea. It's a tremendous harm to the tourism industry of South Korea.
回覆刪除Mers was really a terrible condition and it kills a lot of people, schools had to close and the tourism economy in Korea declined. It is such a bad thing, I think South Korea government should deal with Mers carefully and decrease the bad effects. Besides, we should also care about ourselves in order to infect diseases.
